Rainy Weekend..

This weekend even though it was a looong weekend ( friday and monday free), I didn't do much, first because it was my brother's wedding and second because of the shitty weather. During the week I did my research on the next spot I wanted to discover and I found these beautiful beaches in Manati, so on Sunday I took that route. I stopped in Laguna Tortugero, Mar Chiquita and ended at Hacienda Esperanza but they were only a very short stops because it was rainy, so I decided to do the same trip next weekend and spend more time there, of course my final stop will be "Poza de Las Mujeres" beach which seems to be a beautiful one.
During my researh I found this site "El Vuelton" they walked the entire island on 29 days more than 300 miles...can you believe that? It was exactly what I want to do but of course I don't have the money neither the time, but I just love what they did.
Anyway even though I didn't do much this weekend I'm happy because I looked so nice and tanned during the wedding....just look at the pictures... I know it was maybe the light, the camera or something but I just want to believe I really look like that ha ha...

Playa Colora' and Playa Escondida or someplace near that...Fajardo P.R.

Another weekend exploring Puerto Rico. This weekend I repeated the odyssey of visiting Playa Colora on Saturday (yup I really liked the spot and it's a perfect place to take beautiful pictures). On Sunday I tried to reach "Playa Escondido" in Fajardo. I was looking for a nice beach to do some snorkeling and as always I Google it. According to Frommers :

"Some of the best snorkeling in Puerto Rico is in and around Fajardo. Its beach, Playa Seven Seas, is not as hotsy-totsy as Luquillo Beach, but is an attractive and sheltered strip of sand. The beach lies on the southwestern shoreline of Las Cabezas peninsula and is crowded on weekends. For even better snorkeling, walk along this beach for about half a mile (.8km) to another beach, called Playa Escondido ("Hidden Beach"). Coral reefs in clear waters lie right off this beach."

So I inmediately got really interested in visiting this beach. I did walk half a mile but I think I never find the "Hidden Beach" with the coral reefs lying right off the beach as Frommers said ha ha ha. Don't know if I what at the correct spot but I did walk from Seven Seas maybe more than a half mile and never get to the coral reefs...I think from now on I will do my own reviews on Snorkeling and don't trust just what I read. Anyway it was a good opportunity to try my new "Sun Shelter"

Playa Colora' - Fajardo Puerto Rico

As I posted in my last blog... Summer is here!! and I will try to get the most of it and explore different beaches every weekend, if time, money and mood gives me the opportunity ha ha ha... Anyway this last sunday I discovered this beach near Seven Seas in Fajardo. It's call Playa Colorada because of the red color of the sand and it's a great spot to spend a chilin' day. I almost felt like a model ha ha ha...i know it's just that I love photos a looooot!!!

Welcome Summer 2007

Welcome Summer 2007
I started my summer 2007 at Culebra this last weekend and it was awesome....hopefully this is just the beginning of a great summer....WELCOME SUMMER 2007!!!!!!!!!

Exploring Puerto Rico

I started some kind of blog at "myspace" account about exploring Puerto Rico and visiting different places each weekend of Summer 2007 but after two of my friends (they know who they are ha ha) showed me their really cool blogs, I decided to be a copycat and move my "Exploring Puerto Rico" posts to this new blogsite. I'll be using my nickname "Dora the Explorer", gave it to me by "El Grillo" during a camping in Lares last year. So here is my intro post and I hope you like the blog and help you get to know our precious island a bit better.
